Welcome to my final top lists of the year. I must say that I’m glad to be done with them xD. This list consists of the top 3 video games I really enjoyed throughout 2015. I’m only choosing 3 because I want to focus on my true favorites without stretching things out too much. Let’s get it going!!!

#3 – Until Dawn

I would like to make one thing clear, I don’t like Until Dawn because it’s a horror game. I enjoyed it for the humor/ typical teen drama that flows from this game in waves. Until Dawn takes place from the viewpoint of 8 friends who return to a mountain house that was abandoned the year before due to a tragedy that occurred when they were partying he previous year.

Why It’s One Of My Favorites…

This game does a great job at using stereotypes to its advantage. Horror tropes are played up big time, but the way they’re used really fits with the story. It also tells multiple stories at once that all converge as you reach the end of the game. The flow together seamlessly and the choice of actors made it work even better.  The fast paced game play and butterfly effect kept me interested enough to play it in one sitting.

#2 – Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

No one should be surprised that this game is in my top 3. It won game of the year for a reason. The Witcher is a fantasy, open world action/adventure full of awesome graphics, bloody battles and naked chicks.

Why It’s One Of My Favorites…

I fell in love with the characters if I’m being honest. Their personalities fit the time period the creators were trying to portray, along with the fantasy element it is all set in. The main story is great, but what sets this game apart is all of the tiny side stories you can find when taking part in the side quests. They help to flesh out the world around you. Sometimes the side stories tie into the main story line which is really cool. I played over 300 hours of this game and enjoyed every second of it.

#1 – Life Is Strange

Life is Strange and I had an interesting journey together. It is an episodic butterfly effect kind of game with its main focus being time travel. The cast of characters are all high school students attending a prestigious school in Oregon called Blackwell Academy. It poses the question, ‘if you could rewind time, what would you do with it?’

Why It’s One Of My Favorites…

When I played the first episode of Life is Strange I hated it. I thought it was hipster bs and I just wasn’t feeling it. At the time there weren’t too many games out, so when episode 2 released I bought it. I played it more out of curiosity; I wanted to see where they would go with the time travel aspect of it. I ended up falling in love with the story. Although your choices don’t really matter in the end, (no matter what you choose, you get the same 2 options at the very end as everyone else), it did a fantastic job of keeping me on the edge of my seat and throwing in twists that I wasn’t expecting.

This game also holds one of my all time favorite game characters of all time, Nathan Prescott. I plan to write a blog post revolving around him soon, so I won’t go into much detail, but once you get through his story you realize he is one of the realist characters you’ll ever meet. It blew my mind how much a cared for this pixelated boy by the end of it.

So there’s my list of games from 2015! I hope you enjoyed. Let me know what your top 3 games are in the comments. Let’s start a conversation! Thanks for reading and I’ll talk to you later :).
